Greetings from the land of sunshine and our first full day in Karen Village! We started with a delicious breakfast spread filled with lots of fruit (fresh mango, bananas, dragon fruit), rice and pancakes. At breakfast we practiced singing as the village invited us to their Sunday service and welcomed us to sing a song. The village provided traditional hand made Karen clothing for the girls to wear. We sat through about an hour of service before our group performed country roads for everyone! After our performance we went to Sunday school with all the kids and played games. Blake and Gigi led half the room in the games Duck Duck Goose and Night of the Museum. After service, we were taken to the village museum filled with hand made tools for cooking and hunting. Ella got to try out their hunting traps then pass it around for the group to see. We then game back for an awesome lunch and some group games. Laney taught everyone how to play the card game Trump, Taylor got so into it and loved learning the odds of winning each round! After lunch, we were taken to the village doctor who specialized in herbal natural medicine. Bailey and Heidi had informative questions for the doctor about what each herb would help with. We visited the village farm afterwards. They told us about the communal sharing and vitamins of each fruit and vegetable grown there. The girls rubbed turmeric all over them and ate different fruits such as raw mango. We then visited the school where the girls played volleyball, Betsy giggling every time she hit it over the net! We returned for dinner where we settled and played more games all together until Blake and Heidi led our Moonup before getting our beauty sleep!
Another beautiful day in Karen Village starting with a delicious full spread breakfast! We started our community service of working with the village to build water tanks. While packing up dirt on the trucks Laney, Bailey, Betsy and Taylor made a game out of singing songs A capella, before belting the Greatest Showman track. Blake then helped mix the concrete while Heidi, Ella, and Gigi started slabbing it onto the tanks. Everyone then came together doing the same job of covering the water tanks with our newly mixed concrete. We took a lunch break and played a few games like Gigi’s favorite “I love London” where all the girls choose a dance move and pass it to each other! After lunch we returned for a short period to our water tank project before putting on some river shoes and heading to the rice field. There we were shown the machines they use for planting rice. Blake, Betsy, Taylor, Laney, volunteered to demonstrate with the machines and got to do a lap in the rice field with them! Walking back our guide picked a leaf and taught the girls how to naturally blow bubbles. After the field the girls were able to shower and were surprised with a spa day of face masks and nail polish. Bailey and Ella had a ball with the face masks and while painting nails! We had a group dance party after dinner where the classics like the cha cha slide were brought out. Laney then taught the group how to play silent football and it quickly became one of the funniest games with Bailey, Ella, Blake, and taylor having the whole group crying laughing. After a long night of giggling we headed to sleep excited for another day learning in the village!
Today we woke up and had another awesome breakfast. Then we got ready to head back to the water tanks and resume our work. We definitely all got into a groove today and improved our cementing skills tremendously. Blake was always the last to take a break and the first to jump back in, dedicated to getting her section done. Bailey talked with the chief and watched as he showed her his technique. One of the workers had brought his baby son, and Ella helped keep him occupied, playing in the dirt. A few women from the village came up to thank us and gave us hand woven purses. They were beautiful. We spent the rest of our work day hanging out, laughing, and just enjoying the quality time together. Then, we went to see one of the local women go through the process of peeling rice. This was the rice we would be eating for dinner! Betsy, Heidi and Taylor helped her sift through the rice, picking out any unpeeled pieces that the machine may have missed. Then, we had some time back at camp to hang out, play games, and start packing up for tomorrow. Ella and Betsy were our LODs and we had an awesome last moonup, reflecting on our favorite parts of the trip and recognizing everyone who made it special. We ended moonup by surprising everyone with little journals where they could all write notes to each other! We ended the night with a game of fishbowl, full of all of the inside jokes we’ve created throughout the trip. I can’t believe tomorrow is our very last day together!!
Happy last day in Thailand!! Today we woke up and had our last breakfast with our host family! Then we cleaned up, said our goodbyes, and headed back to Chang Mai. Ella, Taylor, and Laney belted the Greatest Showman soundtrack and we all sang and danced the whole way there. We got to the hotel to shower and change before we headed to our banquet lunch. We all wore elephant pants and “I ❤️ Thailand” shirts! We went to one of our favorite restaurants, Cluck, inspired by Nashville fried chicken. We got lunch and milkshakes and Laney, Taylor, and Blake surprised us with a diss track that made everyone laugh. Then we got back to the hotel, signed each others shirts, and hung out and played games before our long travel day. We played mafia and silent football (a new group favorite) and laughed and reminisced about our trip. Then we headed to the airport!
It has been such an honor getting to know each and every one of these girls. Their constant positivity and willingness to make the most of every experience truly made this trip one to remember!

Hi again from Thailand!!
Today, we woke up and had an awesome group breakfast before riding out for a day of rock climbing and repelling. We were prepared with instructional group gear and games, along with writing down goals for the day! We did a short hike up into a cave where the girls started climbing. Blake and Laney climbed all the courses and even had some friendly competition with racing to the top. Betsy and Ella have both conquered climbing, as they have made tremendous progress speeding up. All the girls were so encouraging with one another; Gigi made sure she cheered on her friends as they climbed. After a morning of climbing, we learned to self repel with an exercise. We headed down the mountain for lunch where Heidi, Bailey, and Taylor kept the group smiling and laughing throughout the meal (nothing new here!) After lunch, we hiked up to a lookout point on top of the mountain, before repelling down into the cave we climbed up earlier. Everyone was so brave and encouraging, as it’s a long way down! The girls really cheered each other on during the activity! We headed back to the hotel for a bit of rest after a long day or hiking, climbing, and repelling. For dinner, we had Cluck’s Nashville style southern cooking- a lot of the girls said they felt like they were back home! After dinner, the girls had milkshakes as a treat for having a positive group attitude during a long day of activities. We went back to the hotel, and Ella and Gigi led our closing night before the girls hung out, scrapbooked, journaled, and yapped their way to bed.
Our cooking class day was so much fun!! We woke up and had breakfast at the hotel and then headed to a local market where our group was split to shop for ingredients. Ella made an awesome effort to use the Thai translations to communicate with the people at each stall, which helped us a lot! Blake led her group through the market and they were the first to finish their list! Afterwards, they were able to spend their extra money on smoothies and fun new Thai snacks. Then, we headed to the village where we had the cooking class! We were introduced to all of the “mothers/Maes” of the village, and they took us through each ingredient, explaining what it would be used for. After, we began helping them prepare the meal. Taylor volunteered to help prepare the fish, cutting it and stuffing lemongrass in its mouth…its mouth closed when she put it in, and she shrieked, making us all laugh. Gigi chopped up other herbs and vegetables that we used to season our meat, and Laney and Bailey prepared bowls out of leaves for some omelets. Ella helped stuff the bamboo sticks they used to cook the chicken in over the open fire. We all learned a variety of new Thai words along the way! The Maes taught us how to fold the leaves into little envelopes for our deserts, and Bailey caught on right away, impressing them all! She was a natural! Then, we all sat down to eat our meal! It was delicious! When we got back to the hotel, we hung out for a while, and then went to dinner before heading back to the markets. Everyone bought the last of their gifts and souvenirs before we went back to pack up for our next location.
Another fun day in the books! We started off with our usual family breakfast, and then packed up and headed on our way to our next stop. We had a van ride to our first stop where Ella, Laney, Betsy, Blake, and Taylor played hilarious group games while Bailey, Heidi, and Gigi sang “Dixieland Delight,” followed by a bunch of other country songs. Heidi gave a demo and told the group she’d teach them how to line dance in the future! After a car ride of chaos and giggles, we reached the elephant sanctuary! We were taught fun facts about the elephants in Thailand and how best to respect them in the sanctuary. We then made elephant food and treats for them. Blake and Taylor were our honorary elephant food chefs. We had an awesome spread of traditional Thai food when we arrived filled with plates of fruit. All of our fruit scraps and rinds were then collected, and we went to go meet our elephant friends! The girls all had so much fun feeding and meeting them all. Everyone got their own bag of sugar cane to hand to their trunks or gently put in their mouths. Ella had the biggest smile on her face, as this is what she said she has been most excited about! Gigi laughed as one of the elephants took her bag from her to get the sugar cane to itself. We were then taught how to ask for a kiss- Heidi and Taylor received a bunch of elephant kisses! After giving the elephant snacks, we were able to play and bathe them in the water. Bailey and Blake made sure the elephants were getting a top-tier spa treatment by exfoliating their skin with the mud and sand! Betsy got a truck full of water sprayed straight at her, as the elephant held up a cheeky smile. Laney started mud and water wars taking people down, while the group laughed and dog-piled one another. We were then able to all rock slide down into the water! This was awesome, as they created small trains going down together. After we said goodbye to our elephant friends, we headed down the river for a bit of bamboo rafting! The girls screamed and giggled as the rapids picked up, and they spent time on the calmer waters admiring the scenery and telling animal facts. When we arrived at our new accommodation, everyone was able to get shower and rest before an awesome family-style Thai dinner was provided. After dinner, we played a bunch of group games together! After, Betsy and Taylor lead our group’s Moonup. We then packed up and got ready for our next adventure!
Hey Mom! We’ve been up to so much exciting stuff here that I can’t wait to tell you about. I love and miss you so much, and I can’t wait for you to tell me about your trip with Coco. I miss all my siblings so much. I’ve experienced so much here, and it has been such an exciting adventure. See you soon! – Tay
Hey Mom and Dad! I miss you guys so much! I have gotten to experience so many cool things since I have been here. I have gotten my scuba certification, fed elephants, and gotten to attend a Thai cooking class! We are now in a Thai village for the last few days of our trip. I can’t wait to tell you guys more when I get home. I hope everything is going well at home. I want to say thank you for allowing me to go onto this trip. It has been such an amazing adventure! But, I can’t wait to see you guys!!! Also Happy Father’s Day, Dad!! I love you so unbelievably much, and I wish I was there to celebrate. You are truly such a light in my world, and I cannot wait to see you soon!!!! I Love you guys more.-Laney
Sa wa dee ka! We arrived in the village today! I just got back from a tour around the village and we played soccer with some of the younger kids. Yesterday, we went to the elephant sanctuary, and we bathed them, went in the water with them, made them treats, and fed them. That was definitely one of the highlights of the trip! My other highlight was when we did a thai cooking class. We made chicken in a bamboo stick which was surprisingly good, along with fish, desserts, and some sort of egg dish in a leaf. After the elephant sanctuary was bamboo rafting which was really cool because the boat was about 20 ft long and made of about 6 bamboo pieces. Tomorrow in the village we are building a water tank and going to church with the locals. Anyway, just wanted to let you know I love and miss y’all and am having a blast so far! Thank you again for letting me go on this trip! Also Happy Father’s Day! I am more than grateful to have you as my dad and can’t wait to celebrate you when I get back! Love you guys!❤️❤️❤️ -Blake
Hey guys! I hope you guys are doing good. We just made it to the village and have played some soccer and had a little tour. Tomorrow, we are going to the local church here, and I’m very excited to be able to see their culture and do work in the village. I can’t believe the trip is almost over and can’t wait to tell y’all all about it! Happy Father’s Day! -Bailey
Hiii Mom and Dad!!!! I hope y’all are doing so great and made it to Italy smoothly! I just made it to the village, which is the last stop of the trip. I have had seriously the best time here. Thailand is so rich in culture and one of the most unique places I’ve been. I have visited numerous temples, tried a variety of foods, and made countless friendships and memories along the way. I can’t believe I will see y’all in just a couple of days. I also wanted to wish you the happiest father’s day, Dad!!!!! I’m so sad to not be with you on your special day, but I wanted to let you know how truly thankful I am for you. Thank you for always being the most consistent person, friend, and father in my life, I could not love you more. I’m so excited to celebrate in Italy and see all of you. Love y’all all so so much!!! -All my love, Gigi
Hey Mom and Dad! I hope all is well at home! We have just made it to the village, where we will be doing community work, which I am super excited for. I also wanted to wish dad a Happy Father’s Day! I have tried so many new foods here, and I love Thailand so much. It’s awesome and such an extraordinary place! I have made so many friendships while being here! See you soon! -Hugs and kisses, Ella
Hi Mom and Dad! I miss you guys and HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!! I love you dad so much and thank you for being the best dad I could ever ask for! I am sooooo excited for PLP! I have done so much here, and I have had the best time. In Krabi I got my advanced SCUBA certification, and we did a ton of rock climbing. I also bought some really good stuff! And then we went to Chiang Mai and Bangkok for small amounts of time, and we are now in a more remote village doing some community work. Yesterday was soooo awesome because we got to hang out with elephants and go swimming with them!! I love you guys so much and see you in PLP in like 5 days. Don’t worry about me, I’m doing good. Happy Father’s Day dad! Miss you both and see you soon! 💕💕-Heidi

June 15, 2026
Time has absolutely flown by the past four days!!! We have had an absolute blast spending time scuba diving and snorkeling. Taylor is now 19! We woke her up with surprise streamers, music, and had the breakfast table decorated with banners and party hats for everyone. Taylor said she was so happy everyone continued to wear them all day for her! After breakfast, we took off to the dive shop where we learned about our gear and got to practice skills in the pool. Blake was given star student by one of the dive instructors! After our first day of instruction we headed to dinner where the girls had classic Thai meals- Pad Thai quickly becoming one of our groups all time favorites! The group sang happy birthday to Taylor while she blew out her candles and everyone ate mango sticky rice for dessert. The girls all surprised her with a homemade card and wrote sweet messages to her on it. After dinner, we walked to some markets and bought gifts for friends and family. It was really heartwarming hearing the reasons and people behind each gift. Ella, Gigi, and Heidi said the market’s frozen yogurt was the thing to get! The Leaders of the day Bailey and Gigi gave words of encouragement and praised everyone’s efforts for trying new activities during the day!
The next day we hopped on a boat and were able to practice our skills in the open water! Laney, Blake, and Bailey couldn’t stop making our instructor laugh and had so much fun making each exercise into a competition. Gigi and Ella were able to go on a fun dive since they were already certified. Betsy spent the day snorkeling and was the only one to see sharks all day! Heidi spent time getting her advanced certificate and loved learning about all of the marine life in the area. We all got back on the boat for lunch and spent the rest of the time listening to music and reading. This group loves some good chill time and it’s always so refreshing just spending quality time together. We surprised the group with a burger place for dinner (they’ve all been craving some American food) and it was a hit!
Another day spent in the sun and on the boat with nothing but smiles from us! We had two dives, one was to finish the girls scuba certification while the other was a fun dive. Heidi completed her advance with a huge congrats and smile from her instructor and group! Bailey, Blake, Taylor, and Laney all became scuba certified! Ella and Gigi had some more fun dives while Betsy was the winner of seeing most sharks in the water again! The snacks on the boat were a huge hit! Banana muffins, watermelon, and pineapple are just what you need after time in the water. After both dives we ate lunch and hung out all together on the boat. During our chill time on the boat the girls all sit together, listen to music and laugh! Blake and Laney have both been loving their current books while Betsy has been awesome keeping up with her daily journal! After we returned from the boat we surprised them by going back to the night markets. They all loved this place especially the food, live music, and entertainment (along with the shopping) -so we had to return. The fresh fruit smoothies put big smiles on Heidi, Laney, and Blake’s faces! Ella and Heidi closed out the night coming back as our LODs.
Our final day diving was one of our days with best visibility and consisted of two fun dives for the group! Betsy once again kept her lead with the most shark sighting coming in at about 20 in total for all dive days. Bailey and Taylor both said this day was their “favorite dive day!” They saw lots of fish such as the Blue-Spotted Ribbontail Ray and Giant Moray Eel. Laney was able to spot a shark while Blake made the group laugh with her fun diving skills! Ella, Heidi, and Gigi headed out for their dive with one of the group’s favorite instructors- they were sad to tell him goodbye. After our dives we gave the girls time to pack for our flight tomorrow then took them to watch a fire show on the beach! After a tiresome four days we treated the girls to some Mexican comfort food. Laney was excited as she’s been craving it. Heidi, Taylor, and Blake told such entertaining stories that made everyone laugh at the table! Betsy and Laney were our LODs as they led our final closing night.
It’s been so awesome watching this group bond and be so supportive of one another. They have really entered their silliness phase with each other and it has been such a treat to be a part of!

Hey Moondance Families!
“Sawasdee ka” from Thailand!! These past few days have been so amazing, and we have had so much fun getting to know this group. These girls truly have the best energy and have already become a family. On day one, we explored the beautiful Grand Palace in Bangkok. We walked around and learned some history, and took in the amazing artistry. Blake loved learning about the emerald buddha, and how the king changes his accessories based on the seasons. We stayed in the city and had a delicious lunch and played some games before heading back to the hotel before our early morning flight to Krabi. The girls spent the flight chatting and laughing and Gigi made some great progress on her needlepoint. As the plane landed that morning it was filled with squeals of awe and excitement from the beautiful view below. After settling into our hotel we decided to explore the town. Next, we headed down to the beach. Laney broke out her camera and made everyone feel so special by taking their photos in front of the breathtaking view. Heidi and Blake were the first ones in the water, and the rest followed. We got to know each other more by asking silly questions while we splashed around and swam. Then we showered at the hotel and got ready for dinner. After dinner Taylor and Gigi (our leaders of the day) led an awesome moonup that really brought the group even closer together.
The next day, we had our first day of rock climbing!! We took a long boat over to Railay Beach where we headed to the beach and started climbing ! Blake jumped up first to start us off and absolutely killed her first climb with speed and grace. Bailey tackled the most challenging climb as Gigi and Heidi cheered her on! After the whole group completed their climbs we had time to swim before lunch! After lunch we got to spend some time walking around the town of Railay. Ella and Taylor picked the brains of our guides, asking them all about the town and their lives as locals. Then we took a short, steep, hike up to some caves where we rapelled down. Betsy conquered her fears and was so happy and proud of herself at the end of it! She made sure to take lots of photos to show everyone at home! Laney and Heidi cracked jokes all the way back to our boat, making the whole group laugh about the day we had.
The next morning we headed back to Railay Beach to climb again! Taylor impressed us all by making it up our most challenging climb yet in record time! Blake followed her, completing the same climb with ease, and took photos of the view at the very top. Gigi and Bailey never failed to be the biggest hype women during everyone’s climbs. Then, we went to lunch and spent some more time walking around and shopping in the town. Betsy, Heidi, Ella, and Blake got some really cute jewelry and matching flower clips! Then, we spent some time on the beach playing games while we waiting for our boat home. Ella, Gigi, and Bailey helped teach the group some Moondance classics. We spent the rest of the day playing more games and making friendship bracelets. We went to one of our new favorite restaurants for dinner and talked about everyone’s dream colleges and careers. Laney and Betsy were our leaders of the day and led a very meaningful Moonup. It was extra long tonight from lots of laughing about the day we had and expressing our gratitude for the trip.
This morning, we headed off to Tiger Cave Temple! This hike consists of 1,200 steps up to a giant golden Buhdda! Gigi was our voice of positivity, encouraging the group not to give up! Heidi led us in some chants to hype up the group and get our minds off of the challenge. We made it to the top of the stairs, which was a beautiful viewpoint looking out over all of Krabi. Once we made it to the bottom, we rewarded ourselves with ice cream and smoothies! Then, we got lunch and headed to the beach! Heidi made us all laugh with her Australian accent and Blaked helped us all with our friendship bracelets. Then we headed home to shower before taking the group to the Markets! There were hundreds of tents filled with shops, food, and live performers. The girls loved shopping around and bought a bunch of souvenirs for family and friends. It was so sweet seeing how thoughtful they were about each gift. Ella, Gigi, and Bailey got rolled ice cream and the worker let Bailey get behind the booth and roll her own! One of the live performers held out her microphone for Betsy to sing with her, and the whole group joined in, dancing and singing to Taylor Swift. The girls all agreed this was their favorite night yet. We ended the night with Heidi and Ella as our leaders of the day, and celebrated the last night of Taylor being 18!
This group has been so amazing already and it makes us so happy to see how close they’ve gotten in such little time! We are so excited to see how they continue to grow as a group!
Ella-

Hey Mom and Dad! I’m in Thailand!!!! It is so pretty here and a lot like home very humid and rainy. We rock climbed for the second day today and it was challanging but very cool and rewarding. I’m definitely sore from all the hiking and climbing so def going to need a massage when I get back. I’ve gotten a lot of things and tried a bunch of new foods here and we had ponsit for breakfast! And pad Thai as well which was good for me because I don’t like breakfast foods. I miss you all and hope y’all are having fun and I’ll see y’all soon. Love you guys and be nice to each other! Thanks!
Blake-
Finally made it to Thailand!! We have already climbed the cliffs at rallay beach which was so cool because it was actually rock climbing too! Then we went on a hike where we went and hiked in caves up a cliff and then Ballayed down. Then we did a temple tour and saw the palace. It was pretty cool because there is this famous Buddha that no one is allowed to touch and it has different outfits for the different seasons. Only the king is allowed to touch the Buddha! Also this is literally pad Thai heaven! I have it for all the meals everyday! Haha! There is also a surprising amount of American food and music here too! Lots of random chachkeys and litttle goodies. We also did a few beach days. Love you guys, can’t wait to tell you all about the rest of the trip!
Love you guys!
