Stokes, 22, from Mount Pleasant, SC, steps into his first summer as a Moondance Trip Leader while going into his senior year at Sewanee: The University of the South. Most recently, Stokes worked with Coastal Expeditions as a camp counselor, leading campers in kayaking, fishing, and hiking. He also brings a strong leadership background as a former high school soccer captain, and three years of coaching middle school soccer camps focused on building team unity. Stokes is deeply motivated to serve as a mentor and create spaces where students can grow through challenge, connection, and resilience on trail.
Jane Ryland, 23, is from Birmingham, Alabama, and a graduate of Auburn University with a degree in Biomedical Sciences. At Auburn, she served as a Panhellenic Recruitment Counselor for two years, mentoring incoming freshmen and helping them navigate campus life. She spent her free time volunteering in the Emergency Department at a medical center in Auburn and is currently preparing for the MCAT as she looks ahead to a future in healthcare. Jane Ryland was a student on the Yosemite trip in 2021, which sparked a lasting appreciation for the outdoors and meaningful group connection. After leading the British Columbia trip last summer, we are excited to welcome Jane Ryland back for another summer!
