Mountains to markets, surf to sand dune, this Spain and Morocco combo is stacked with vibrant culture, big mountains, and continental wonders. Designed for those keen to get off the beaten path, this trip takes you up the rugged ridgelines of Spanish and North African peaks, with coastal and cultural exploration in between. From the passes of Picos de Europa National Park in Spain, to the High Atlas Mountains of Morocco, you’ll get the best views of both stunning countries. Back at sea level, you’ll catch Spanish waves and wander the colorful Marrakech Market in Morocco. This trip is part European, part African, all incredible.

Learn the art of high altitude living as you backpack Picos de Europa National Park. The spectacular Cantabrian mountains will be the backdrop as you explore the views and valleys of the ancient Spanish countryside. Spend your days trekking through alpine wonderlands, and your nights nestled in remote mountain refugios (mountain huts) with a bunk and a hot meal. Que Bueno!

Succumb to tidal life in the turquoise waters of Llanes. Surrounded by ancient architecture and jagged cliffs rising from the sea, you’ll surf the Spanish swells of the Bay of Biscay. Professional guides will instruct you in paddling out, reading, and catching waves. Soon you’ll be on your own riding the rolling sea in this famous surfing destination.

mountaineering

Towering over North Africa, Mount Toubkal rises to 13,671 feet. Spending three days in its shadow, you’ll climb to the best view in Morocco. Traverse snowfields and learn to navigate a true mountaineering route where after monumental effort, you’ll savor an African sunrise from the slopes of this spectacular mountain. The jet black rock of the High Atlas Mountains will be your backdrop for this alpine adventure.

Explore the enchanting markets, mosques, and souks of Marrakech. Immerse yourself in the bustling bazaars filled with colors, textiles, pottery, and snake charmers. Sample local spices, sip mint tea, and marvel at Moroccan culture.
