Casey Yarborough, 23, graduated from the University of North Carolina in 2021, and is originally from Asheville North Carolina. While at UNC, she majored in both German and Peace, War and Defense while participating in Club Lacrosse. Casey led for us in 2021 on the Colorado Trail trip, where she helped her students learn confidence and outdoor skills! After leading for us in 2021, Casey worked at Paradise Guest Ranch. She currently works as an investigator for the Public Defender Service, where she investigates criminal cases and analyzes investigation findings. We are thrilled to have Casey back this summer, and her students will be too!
Matthew Thompson, 20, is from Little Rock, Arkansas and is a sophomore at Sewanee: The University of the South studying Geology. He is a student leader for the Student Outing Program and leads his peers as a mentor and outdoor guide throughout the year. Matt discovered his love for the outdoors while climbing and mountain biking in the Ozark Mountains, and has a unique appreciation for nature. He is personable, energetic, and positive! Matt will make a stellar leader on Big Wild, and we are so excited to have him as a leader!
