Porter, 20, is a rising senior at Washington & Lee University, majoring in Sociology and Environmental Economics. Originating from Belvidere, Tennessee, Porter’s journey into mentorship and leadership began during high school, where he worked as a lifeguard, eventually ascending to the position of head lifeguard and pool manager at the Monteagle School. At Washington & Lee, he has continued to cultivate his leadership skills as a pre-orientation trip leader for the W&L Outing Club, a university ambassador, and a consultant for W&L consulting. Porter’s love for the outdoors is matched only by his enthusiasm for sharing those experiences with others. Thoughtful, intentional, and eagerly awaiting the opportunity to connect with his students, Porter is well-prepared to lead the Pacific Northwest trip this summer. With his dedication and genuine passion for fostering meaningful connections, Porter is poised to guide his students through unforgettable experiences and create lasting memories. We are thrilled to welcome Porter back to the Moondance team and are confident he will excel as a Trip Leader this summer.
