Marketing + Merchandise Coordinator
Moondance is looking for a creative and driven Coordinator to implement and execute our social media, marketing and retail strategy. This full-time, in-person role is responsible for maintaining brand integrity while bringing our identity to life through digital marketing, content, and retail experiences.
In this role, you’ll develop and implement our social media strategy and oversee email marketing. You’ll assist with website updates and the creation of branded materials, ensuring consistency and quality across every touchpoint. You’ll also manage our retail and e-commerce operations—including merchandise design, vendor relationships, inventory, and sales performance—while supporting key marketing initiatives and KPIs.
This is a hands-on role that blends creativity with execution. You’ll lead visual storytelling through design, photography, and video, while staying organized, data-informed, and results-driven. The ideal candidate is proactive, adaptable, and resourceful, with a strong eye for design and a “figure it out” mindset. This role is pivotal in maintaining Moondance brand integrity, ensuring visual communication and consistency across all marketing materials, design, and standards.
Job specific requirements include:
- Social Media Strategy and Content Creation (25% of role): Develop and execute content strategies for all social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn), and gather, analyze, and report on insights (reach, engagement) to meet department KPIs.
- Retail and Merchandise Operations (25% of role):
- E-commerce and Inventory: Manage the online store (WooCommerce), coordinate order fulfillment (ShipStation), oversee inventory management, coordinate with vendors, and manage sales goals and profit margins.
- Order: Manage new gear orders for retail and gifts (for students, alumni, HQ and leaders).
- Manage additional support tasked with assisting in processing large retail launches.
- Media Asset Management (15% of role): Oversee the organization of all digital photo and video, and coordinate the creation and distribution of trip photos and videos via platforms like Waldo, Vimeo, and YouTube.
- Manage external contractors hired to process raw video footage from the field.
- Marketing Initiatives (35% of role): Update marketing materials and copy for digital assets (including website and email campaigns) and print initiatives (Trip Guides, Gear Guides and other mailers).
- Participate in our 12-day Staff Training – teach lessons, develop relationships with leaders, embody the Moondance culture
- Debrief leaders at the summer’s conclusion
- Contribute as a team member to Moondance development, policies, and procedures
- Maintain a friendly, positive, and comforting attitude daily

Interview Process:
- There will be a technical assessment as a part of the interview process with more details to come. This assessment will be an assignment using Moondance brand assets to generate future marketing and retail campaigns.
