Ben, 22, is from Woodberry Forest, Virginia, and is a junior at Washington and Lee University, where he studies American History and Politics with a minor in Environmental Studies. While new to Moondance, Ben brings a strong background in leadership and adventure. He studied abroad in Madrid, Spain, served as a counselor at Falling Creek Camp, and currently acts as the Fundraising Chair for Ducks Unlimited on campus. He’s also an Owings Fellowship recipient and is closely connected to many veteran Moondance leaders. We’re thrilled to have Ben bring his enthusiasm, experience, and love for the outdoors to his first summer on staff!

Folger, 22, grew up in Davidson, NC, and is a recent graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill, where she studied Advertising and Public Relations. Folger is no stranger to Moondance, as her mother led for Moondance in 1998! Before attending Moondance trips of her own, Folger went to Camp Illahee in North Carolina. She then participated in four trips growing up, her first being the Pacific Northwest in 2017, then Spain + Morocco, Machu Picchu, and finally the 2021 Mystery Trip to Hawaii and Alaska. Having been on trips, she understands and lives out the mission of Moondance. Folger spent the summer of 2023 out in Bozeman, MT, and then spent the following spring semester studying abroad in Valencia, Spain. She is kind and positive, and will be a phenomenal leader this summer!

Harris, 20, is from New Orleans, Louisiana, and is currently a sophomore at Davidson College, where he is studying History. A seasoned Moondance alum, Harris has embraced adventure on five trips—Colorado Trail, Maui, Northern Lights, Kenya + Zanzibar, and Chamonix—each shaping his love for exploration and the outdoors. On campus, he serves as the Service and Social Chair for his fraternity, writes for The Davisonian, and runs a radio show for Davidson College Radio, showcasing his creativity and leadership. With his deep Moondance roots, passion for storytelling, and adventurous spirit, Harris is sure to inspire his students this summer!
