Day 1-2

We’ll arrive as a group in famous and beautiful Johannesburg where we will spend our first night getting to know each other better and discussing our team attitude towards traveling through South Africa. Our second day will be filled as we take in the sights and sounds of a new world and visit the world famous Apartheid Museum.

Day 3-5

The first leg of our adventure takes us out of the city and to what is known as the “real Africa” – Kruger National Park. By day we will cruise through the park checking out the big game and by night we will sleep in chalets on a private game farm. We will also have a chance to check out the Sudwala caves and an animal rehabilitation center.

Day 6-9

Our journey takes us south where we will cross the border into Swaziland. Although a country rich in beauty, culture, and spirit, there are still many people in need. The first of a variety of service projects begins here in Swaziland. We will spend a few days working at an after school program teaching English and playing games with local kids. Then off to run the rapids of a river through the easy going countryside of Swazliand.

Day 10-13

Crossing the border back into South Africa we will head to visit a Zulu tribe for two days. We will spend this time really soaking up a lifestyle to which none of us have ever been exposed. Also, we have the chance to see some more big game at Hluhluwe National Park where we will do a full day open vehicle game drive.

Day 14-16

These next few days will take us off land and into the water to visit some of the famous and large water animals – crocodiles and hippos. No, we won’t be swimming with them – but close enough – we will check out the marine life from a boat cruising in Lake St Lucia.

Day 17-18

We can practice our paddling and communication skills as we navigate the rapids of the Umzimvubu River in kayaks. We’ll fall asleep under the vast southern sky on the beach of our river.

Day 19-20 The final leg of our adventure will take us to the southern tip of the continent - Cape Town, where we can get back on the water by enjoying a whale and dolphin boat tour. Then we have a chance to hike up Table Mountain and descend by cable car. Finally, we can visit Robben Island.
Day 21 Our final day we will catch our afternoon flight home.
